Jason M. Miller, J.D., M.A. holds a doctoral degree in law and earned a Master of Arts in Special Education from Notre Dame de Namur University. Jason provides educational therapy, consultations, advocacy services, and post-secondary transition services and advisement. He is an Education Specialist at San Mateo High School, an academic institution with national prominence, where he teaches English, Math, and a Directed Studies course designed to strengthen executive function skills. He often draws from Universal Design and Constructive Meaning principles for instruction, and incorporates modeling into all of his work. Importantly, he is committed to understanding who students are, what motivates them, and what works to support their needs. Jason’s goal is to help students be confident in "how to think" (instead of “what to think”) so that they acquire problem-solving skills towards a path of academic and personal independence. He gives particular emphasis to self-awareness. As students learn more about their strengths and learning differences they are able to effectively monitor academic challenges and advance their own abilities to become THE teacher for their own thinking, advocacy, and learning outcomes.
Jason brings enthusiasm and a genuine optimism to his clients. His knowledge of the community, his diverse interests, and rich professional experience provide him a platform to accommodate a vast array of student needs - helping students and parents is Jason’s home.
